The month of December absolutely flew by last year, and so far, January seems to be following suit.
I have been meaning to get some posts up for what seems like ever, and am now just sitting down to start them.
We celebrated Christmas Eve with my dad at our house with a ham dinner with all of the fixin's. After eating, while the kiddos were sleeping, we watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and then
once they were awake, it was present time.
My dad got huge stuffed animals for both of the kids and he couldn't have picked anything better. Jackson plays more with Mr. Bear than he ever has with anything. At least a dozen times a day you will find him cuddled up giving Mr. Bear hugs and kisses. Since Abby loves Scooby Doo, she got a jumbo sized Scooby, who has his very own bed and blanket in her room and she puts him to bed every night. Priceless.

That night we left Santa milk and cookies along with a note from Abby thanking him for being such a wonderful man. (She really, really wanted that vanity!)
When she woke up, we went downstairs and low and behold there it was- the vanity!
She now sits there most of the time, brushing her hair and experimenting with her makeup (Christmas gifts from family), although we have had to be quite strict on her usage of it. Her first morning back to preschool, she had gotten up early and looked as though she was headed straight for the Miss America pageant. We had to explain to her that makeup is for play time and not for every day. We continue to have to go over this because she just cant understand why she isn't able to be "beautiful" all of the time.
Jackson still doesnt understand gifts and likes to play with the paper scraps and boxes rather then the toys and books he gets, although he does love his plastic food set complete with rubber spatulas.
I have to say this Christmas morning was my best one yet.
After we got cleaned up, we headed off to Fairfield where we celebrated with the Rominger/ Fritz/ Bishop family. There was so much yummy food along with three little boys all under the age of 18 months which made for a nonstop action day.
The best news of the Christmas holiday? Beth and Gene announced that they are expecting their first baby in July! (Please see the adorable onesie that we got as a gift, telling us the news).
The Bishop clan continues to grow and we couldn't be happier for them.
Again, a very Merry (and late) Christmas from our family to yours!
