The Bishop Diaries: How our lives have changed

A year ago we were planning a vacation to Hawaii - fun in the sun! Drinking, swimming, tanning, dancing, mudbugging, hiking, sightseeing, getting engaged :) - adventure! This year is a complete 180. We have traded drinking for making formula, traded swimming for sanitizing bottles and instead of dancing on a cruise ship, we are now dancing in our kitchen - but we wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

Not only do we find ourselves speaking to each other accidentally in higher pitched tones, but our vocabulary has changed quite a bit. Please see the following for phrases that can be heard in our house on a daily, or hourly, basis:

"Wheres the paci? Has anyone seen a paci? Get me a paci - quick!"* Please note that we have at least ten somewhere in the house, but never one where you need it, when you need it.

"When is the last time he ate? - I swear it was at 2:30pm, or was that yesterday and today it was at 3:15?"

"What is that smell....?"

"Burp rag, I need a burp rag...STAT."

"Come on, Jackson, just give me three minutes. I promise three minutes is all that I need."

"Do you remember what it was like to sleep? One day we'll sleep again."

"WAAAAH WHHHAAAA WAAAH WAAH."

"Sitter Seal! Turn on the Sitter Seal!" - Thanks to Sarah for turning us on to the most amazing app ever.

Then we have acronyms or words that we have created as jokes and now are integrated into our daily language:

FILK - Fake milk, or formula

PIMP Alert - "Poop In My Pants"

Nicknames for Jackson - Jax, Nugget, Nugs, Nugtastic, Fatty Boom Boom, Buddy

For a quick update on our little nugget, he has been a bit fussy as of late, as he is going through another growth spurt and we are happy to report that he weighs over ten pounds now and is quickly growing out of his newborn clothes. He has lost all of the hair on the top of his head, however has kept the hair in the back (which is over an inch long) so he is proudly sporting a baby mullet. He has become a lot more attentive and will watch us and keep an eye on toys that we are playing with and to top it all off, he is starting to smile a lot more. It is so hard to believe that it has almost been two months since we first saw his sweet little face.

We would write more, but there are more bottles to clean, diapers to change and a fussy baby that needs to be comforted, so enjoy the pictures!
