Hot fun in the Summertime

We have made some amazing memories within the last couple of weeks and had some splashing fun times in Mom & Dad's pool.  The weather has been holding steady in the high 90's, and Jackson has been working on his tan (while wearing 75+ spf, waterproof, super-baby style).  Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa Rominger (and Coco) came for a visit from Fairfield, and Aunt Deb and Uncle Greg came down as well.  Saturday we spent hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa, talking way past our bedtime and on Sunday, we had a fun filled day of sun, food and pool relaxation.

We had some quality time at the park last weekend as well.
Jackson loves the baby swing, but that's about all he can take part in, other than sitting at the end of the slide, patiently, as daddy waits on one side, just out of the frame, in case he falls, while mommy tries to snap a picture.  Thanks for being a good sport, Jax.

On Monday, my friend (and college roomie) Jen came into town from Chicago and spent some time with the fam.  Jackson even let her hold him for quite some time with no breakdowns.
That is a huge deal now that stranger danger is in full effect.

Speaking of our little man, he has found the forward gear and is now crawling at high rates of speed.  Tonight marked the last of the vases, plants and other items on or near the floor.
So long, home décor - see you in about a year.
He has also recently started loving the pacifier.  We tried and tried to get him to take a paci for the first five months of colic filled baby bliss, but to no avail.  The other day, he was in his car seat, where we typically place one in case of public crying emergencies before leaving the house, and he found it.  He picked it up, looked at it, and hasn't let it go of it since. Well, he has gone through plenty of them, technically, because I'm OCD on keeping them clean, but he actually uses them like I have always thought a baby would.  Now, he likes to put them upside down and stick his bottom lip out.  It makes me laugh every time.
The last picture is one that Matt took when I ran to the store one afternoon. Jackson was waiting for me, looking out the front window, in his favorite spot.
Talk about melting a momma's heart.
Love you, baby boy!
