My dad got a pretty cute present for his birthday - a new name!
Jackson decided that after trying to say "Grandpa" for months with no success that my dad would now be "Papa." The other day when I accidentally slipped and said "Go hand this to Grandpa," Jackson said "no, Papa!" It's pretty adorable.

To celebrate his birthday, we took a drive to Bishop Hill and had a pretty awesome afternoon.
We had one of the best meals ever at the Filling Station (super kid friendly restaurant) and then walked around the town and went into the cute shops and played at the park.
Jax got to go down the old school - big kid, silver slide. Wow, it was way faster than the plastic slides that we have at the parks by our house. Good thing Papa was at the bottom of the slide to catch him.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Who doesn't love a beard on a stick?
Jax was pretty tired after a long day of playing and eating in Bishop Hill and was out a few minutes into the car ride home.
Lastly, since this post is about Papa's Birthday, I have to mention his twenty pound muskie that he snagged
(on accident while fishing for bass).
Way to go, Dad!

I absolutely love this photo of Jackson, mezmerized by the fish.
Adorable.
Happy (now belated) Birthday, Dad! We love you more than we can say.
