April showers bring a need for father/son mowing

This was a regular scene this spring because we got a lot of rain!  The grass was growing at rapid rates and our basement was getting a lot of use as a storm shelter.  Luckily, nothing too terrible happened in our neck of the woods, but it has been a crazy weather year so far for the entire country.

One Saturday morning, we decided to get donuts and take them to the park with Papa.  I knew that I had been neglecting photos so far this year (camera phone images just aren't the same to me) so we took my camera along.  We got some super cute photos of Jax and I and a couple with Papa.
So sweet!!

Jax loved playing with the falling buds from the trees

We got to go to Cedar Falls to help Dayton celebrate his second birthday!  Love these kiddos!

We took our first trip to the zoo and got to ride on the carousel and the train.  We had to wait a while so that we could ride on the caboose, only because Jax has been talking about it since about November.  He said it was well worth the wait... and then wanted to do it again.

And now for some Jackson randomness...
