March madness in the Bishop Household

An early Easter brought about some fun photos of the kiddos and Easter brunch with Papa.
We wanted to take some family photos and it was a good thing that we did so before brunch because afterwards, we got absolutely poured on!!

Easter Egg coloring time!!

Jax was really into Easter egg hunts this year and we still hide the eggs from time to time so that he can find them.  He is at the most fun age right now where he really understands what is happening around him, he remembers it and then continually asks for things to be repeated.  The joy in his eyes over finding a plastic egg next the the sofa is absolutely something that I want to remember for the rest of my life.

Our Easter photos this year were met with some uncertainty when it came to Jax, however.
Check them out!

We hit up the Children's festival at Western Illinois University and got to see all kinds of fun things and even meet Daniel Tiger!

Abby and Matt did a news cast and Jax was a special guest star

The saddest part of March (and one of the hardest times of my parenting journey thus far) was when Jax cut his finger and we had to go to the Emergency Room to get him stitched up.
Heart. Wrenching.
That night, he and I laid in his bed all night (not sleeping) and he just kept holding his hand in the air to relieve the pressure followed by continual questions of "Mommy, why can't you make it stop hurting? "  (with bursts of sobs the entire night).
He has come to a full recovery, although we still don't know if he has full feeling in his finger.
After Dr. Paul and Nurse Jodi (who he still talks about to this day) stitched up his finger and then glued two of the cuts to get them to stop the bleeding.
Look at that brave face!

Playing with his paw patrol toys with his "good hand"

Learning to eat with his "bad hand"

Starting to come around to liking his bandage (which then led to him never wanting us to leave it to get air after changing it each night).

How do you make Jax feel better after a bandage change?  That's right, my friends.  You give him a bomb pop.

Last, but certainly not least, we had to share a photo of us in these amazing glasses at Easter!
Priceless!

Next up?
April!
