Since this was going to be our forever home, when we made the offer, there were a few things we wanted to make sure that it had / that we could make it have. Fireplace(s), a cool staircase, a pantry, office space, studio space and a mudroom were all "must haves."
Enter the mudroom/laundry room.
A place where we and the kiddos can come inside, take our coats and shoes off and have a
place to sit while doing it. The laundry room was in sad shape and had definitely seen better days.
Floor? Gone.
Orange Oak? See ya.
Gross and rusting work sink in the corner, randomly? Bye.
Matt built an amazing bench/ shoe storage / coat hanging area that we LOVE!
