Paw Patrol Celebration, 2016 - Happy Half Birthday, Jax!

Since our little guy was born so close to Christmas, it has been super hard to throw him a proper birthday party that wasn't an impromptu hijacking of a holiday celebration.  Since my mom was a huge believer in half birthdays, we decided to extend her tradition and officially make June 19th the day that we celebrate Jackson's birthday... or at least that was until we realized that June 19th was Father's Day this year.  We pushed it back to the following Sunday, June 26th, since my family would be in town and staying with us from Colorado (more on that in an upcoming post).

My cousin Matthew and I started off the preparations by drawing the most adorable little puppy paws on the sidewalk leading up to our house (thanks for the awesome idea, Sister K)!!  Jackson could hardly wait for everyone to arrive and somehow, by the grace of God, he actually napped for a couple of hours before the party began.  He was waiting at the door for our first guests to come and join his party and the non-stop, whirlwind celebration of our sweet little man's third year began.  We had so many amazing friends & family travel from out of town to make it to his party - so a huge thanks to everyone who was able to come and make his first real party such a huge success.  We loved that you could be here with us to celebrate!

Paw Patrol was the theme this year, since it is the only thing that Jackson will watch on TV - he has never been big on watching anything, he would rather be up "pway, pway, pwaying"!!!
We had cupcakes, munchies, an adopt a puppy station for the kiddos and lots of laughs and crazy kiddo kisses.

Jax, waiting for everyone to arrive

These boys are too cute!!

and finally, the look he gave when we told him that the party was over and that he would have to wait for his four and a half birthday party.  Priceless.
Happy 3.5, my sweet love!
xoxo,
Mommy
