Our little man celebrated his birthday a few days early with a party last weekend and we were so excited that most of our family and friends were able to make it to the festivities, even though the weather was a bit snowy and the roads weren't the best.
Watching Jackson have his first taste of cake was pretty hilarious. He isn't used to having anything with sugar, so he wasn't quite sure what to do... until Matt pushed the cake straight into his face.
He wasn't that into opening presents, he wanted to crawl/walk around and show off for everyone watching. The next day, he didn't know what to play with because he had so many new toys, so he would crawl from toy to toy and at each one, he would say "oooohhh," or ask "what's this?"
We celebrated the actual day of his birthday yesterday by having yet another cake. This time I got out the camera and snapped away... and then got out the bleach and toothbrush to scrub the blue frosting out of the white grout. Clearly, we didn't fully think through the location.
We had our twelve month visit today and Dr. Scott said that Jackson is doing great. He's still a big boy, in the 75 percentile in both height and weight. Matt and I both can't believe that it has been 365 days since our baby boy was brought into the world, but we are so thankful that he is happy and healthy and we thank God for him every day. We love you, Mr. Man!
