It has been a long running tradition to go to Bishop Hill to celebrate my dad's birthday. We start off by taking photos in the same spot, each year and then walking around the town and finishing with lunch before heading home. This is one of the highlights of the fall for everyone as Jax has a huge sand box to play in along with some fun playground equipment at the park.
Because the restaurants and shops are closed on Mondays in Bishop Hill, we went a day after his actual birthday this year, but were able to celebrate with Miss Abby when he came over for dinner & cake on the day of his birthday. This first photo of my dad and Jax pretty much sums up their relationship. Jax laughs with Papa all of the time and my dad pretty much adores him. It's so special.
This was when Jax realized he had some safety goggles with his tool set. Since then, they have become his "night vision goggles" and he loves to take them everywhere. Silly boy.
