The Bishop Diaries: Catching up - January & February of 2016

I know we are super far behind in blogging and although we didn't have many exciting things happen in the beginning of the year, our blog is a way to look back electronically over our lives to see the progression of growth for our family.

That being said, I wanted to share some of our favorite moments

from January - February of this year.

In no particular order, here they are:

Matt and Abby go to a sweetheart Valentine's dance every year together. This year's theme was purple. Looking good, you two!

Needing some updated photos that weren't Christmas-y in nature for our family room renovation, we headed to the studio and captured some sweet moments of the kiddos.

First up? Abby

Next up? Jackson Quinn

And finally, some of the two of them together.

The outtake from this session is my favorite by far and shows how challenging getting good photos of these two crazy kids can be. Hilarious, Jax!

We went to the Eagle show with Papa in January and Jax actually really liked it. So cute!

Next up was the Valentine's Day photos of the little guy. I've taken these every year since he was born and I don't see that changing any time in the near future. Sorry, bug.

I just had received a new sequin backdrop for my model meetings and Jax and daddy wanted to try it out. Priceless, guys!

We had an unseasonably warm day in January where we were able to head to the park
and "pway, pway, pway!"

We even got to test out the dump truck!

And we spent more than one day at the John Deere Pavilion (better known as the tractor place) for some good winter fun

We had the deconstruction and reconstruction of our family room happening

The kiddos really got into science experiments, so we were doing those on a daily basis (this was an exploding bar of ivory soap in the microwave. They then went on to paint it with water colors. It was.... interesting. The bottom one is milk, dish soap and food coloring, which is actually pretty cool.

Gak is probably the kiddos favorite science experiment/toy. We have made a few batches already!

We took many a trip to the Botanical Gardens as they dump a huge pile of sand in the gardens for the months of January - March to give the members something to do indoors. Thank you, Botanical Gardens!

We met up in Coralville for Easter where I captured this image of these handsome guys

Talia was home from school for Holiday break, so she got to come over to play with Jackson and get ready for a fun summer ahead!

My cousin, Jeremiah, was home from Germany, where he is serving in the United States Air Force.
We welcomed him home with a family dinner and some hilarious stories & laughs!
