Our annual Christmas tree hunt

Every year around Thanksgiving, we go searching for the perfect Christmas tree.
While we love Wyffels trees, they don't have many large ones right now in their growing cycle.
We headed to Mumma's tree farm in Port Byron and
found one really nice tree that fit perfectly into the room.
Jax brought along a couple of bulldozers and played in the mulch while we were wrapping up the tree and getting some hot chocolate.
Our first tree in the new house was a success.  Can't wait for many more holidays here!

Papa and Jax doing their signature "cheers" with hot cocoa while we put up the tree

Loving the new tree incorporating our childhood ornaments and keepsakes.
We started a tradition this year that the weekend we put up the tree, we take the kiddos to the mall ornament store and have them pick out whatever they want as a special ornament for that year.  Then we have the year put on each ornament and when they grow up, they can have these ornaments for their own trees.  Abby picked out a wonder woman ornament and you guessed it,
Jax picked out something with wheels - a fire truck.

Happy (very belated) holidays!
xoxo
